inspiration for Waters, Morrissey, Warhol ?

john waters and the morrissey/warhol team started making similar home-grown movies using everyday people a couple years after this came out... wonder if they saw this and were inspired to start doing their own. Also, i see the original was 82 mins, and the TCM version is only 77 mins.. wonder what was in those other 5 minutes.
