I wonder...

While watching the movie I kept wondering, is this meant for kids or adults?

Parts of it; specifically the embedded fairy tales, seem tailor made for children. That's not to say adults wouldn't find them interesting, I did; I grew reading and being read Grimm and other fairy tales. However, the movie was rather long.

I have a hard time believing those parts could appeal to children. Even if they did, I can't imagine them sitting still throughout the less 'animated' scenes. I'm an adult and liked the movie but at times I thought it would never end.
