great line

I recently bought the dvd of this great movie and watched it again for the first time in about 30 yrs. I had to buy it because its never on t.v.
After watching a couple of times I remembered a great line at the end of the movie when a ceasefire has been signed but Endore goes on patrol anyway but doesn't return in the a.m. like usual. When the Leader of his platoon and a couple of others go looking for him to talk him into going back, the Captain tells him, "come home son the war is over" Endore replies, "there'll be another one".
I thought that was a classic reply.

It was risky to attack the vietnam war before things got really bad. Now a days hollywood is falling all over it's self to make anti-gulf war movies. None are striking any kind of a chord w/ audiences.

I also liked the very last lines, when Capt. Pratt sees Loomis (Robert Redford) staring after Charlie, as the kid runs off into the unknown. Pratt asks him, "Everything all right, Loomis?" After a pause Loomis replies, with faraway look in his eyes: "No."
