Did she have a child?

When speaking to her old boyfriend in the first segment she asks about someone who she is told has an earache but is fine other than that. Her boyfriend is bringing her pictures, and when she gets them in the next segment she refers to the boy looking more like her ex(Paul?) than her. Maybe the subtlety was over my head, but did she have a child that she gave up?
