The Manager

One my favorite characters in this little jewel. Lucas, the blowhard manager.

These poor dim dames depending on a livelihood from this schmuck.

And he is lounging in bed with a "Frolic" magazine (this is what he spends the little bit of money they have on), not doing what most guys would do with it. No, couldn't show that. But he plants a big kiss on (probably) June Wilkinson (who can blame him). And snuggles up to it on the pillow next to him.

Then when the real thing creeps up on him in the dark, he freaks. She's dead, so what -- she is nekkid, for sure. What a hero!

I like it when Lucas insinuates that the big brunette is indulging in the booze a little bit too much. He's hilarious. And craven.

Good for Vera for getting the Count to rescue her from this bunch.
