The Musical

I loved this movie. Has anyone ever seen the musical? Just curious. I have the recording with Michelle Lee, Ken Howard and Tommy Tune, but have never seen it staged. The songs by Cy Coleman are phenominal. I hope someday a broadway revival is done so I can see it.

You might enjoy "The Seesaw Log: A Chronicle of the Stage Production, with the Text, of Two for the Seesaw" by William Gibson....available on Amazon.

Sorry, that is the book about the original stage play. I meant
"Second Act Trouble: Behind the Scenes at Broadway's Big Musical Bombs" - I was looking at both to purchase.

A great book about musical bombs is "Not Since Carrie: Forty Years of Broadway Musical Flops" by Ken Mandelbaum. I can't remember if Seesaw was mentioned in it.

I did the musical "Seesaw" and played "Sparkle" in a college production.

It worked on a small stage for a small audience.

But I never got how it worked on a Broadway stage in front of a New York crowd.

The cast album looked completely overblown.

"Don't call me 'mac'... HONEY!"
