Melodramatic sequence near end (no spoilers)

Hi -

I finally saw this lost gem (it is available online if you know where to look) but did not like two scenes near the very end. (No spoilers!) Both were overly melodramatic, and the outside night one looked like something out of a cheap Republic Studios 1930's "chapter serial" or something.

I still really liked the film, but thought the ending was kind of forced as a result.

yeah, that's the scene that came to my mind too, i actually thought it was thrilling, but sure i guess tomrombouts could have a point about it. it reminded alote of the scene in "pollock" (2000) to me.

i have to leave,
will you wait for me,
i'm going back out,
to re do my mission from last time,
get some things done i didn't do then,
to make some repairs, i have to leave again,
put in at the empty place,
add to the mission, that i didn't finnish yesterday,
when night falls,
if i'm back home,
will i be all on my own,
putting on my coat and hat,
on a mission, walking out the door, will you still be here when i come back.
