Veronica's black eye

It's been so long since I've seen Two Weeks in Another Town, however, I'm almost certain that Veronica was given her black eye by Davy (George Hamilton) during the sequence in which The Bad and the Beautiful is screening. Davy seemingly smacks her in one of his numerous temper tantrums in the film, and storms out the screening room, which ultimately brings Jack and Veronica together.
