Theme Song

Hi there,
Does anyone know why Doris never recorded a theme song for this film?
I have 4 beautiful box sets from the company "Bear Family" here in Germany. They contain the entire recordings of Doris. Of course she did not record theme songs for several other films but this seem to have been a film to have had one.

It IS unusual! Typically she either recorded a song played over the credits, or sang during the movie, or both. That Touch of Mink, apparently, did not lend itself to a vocal.

Strange thing about the theme, which was composed by George Duning - a composer of integrity.

Ten years earlier, in 1952, there was another Doris Day movie - April In Paris, with the music for the songs written by Vernon Duke, an equally well-respected composer. Among the songs for AIP was one titled That's What Makes Paris Paree - sung in the movie by Doris and Claude Dauphin.

Remarkably, the theme for TToM and the song from AIP have melody lines that are almost identical.

Yet I've never come across anyone ever mentioning this or heard about any claims of plagiarism.
