Why no remake?

Maybe I missed it but why hasn't there been a remake of this movie.
Of all the cr*p that's been redone you'd think this one would be a candidate.

Yes, because remaking a remake of a classic sounds like a GREAT idea when you type, say or spell it out!

LOL !!!! I say,let Clooney and his gang do it !! They did a great UPDATED version of OCEAN'S 11. Clooney has the secret in making these "rat pack" films. In real life, they are all good friends, much like Sinatra and his gang. That's what makes Clooney's version work. After recently obtaining SERGEANTS 3 on DVD and watching it and enjoying it (it IS the best of the rat pack films),I say Clooney can pull it off.

Oceans 11 deux was one of the worst pieces of cinematic garbage to be let out of the cutting room in years. If Clooney butchered S III the same way, it would be a travesty.

Oh no. Not Clooney and his gang of silly trend boogers. If they remade it, they should at least do it with a great cast.

Wow - I just figured out this one is a loose remake of Gunga Din.

Why remake a remake?
Gunga Din was far superior to this dreadful piece of trash.
The sound stage mountain top is painful to watch and laughable.

Easily the weakest of the Rat Pack films. The Indians were SO campy, though, it was hilarious! Henry Silva standing there while Sinatra has that bogus knife at his throat just about put me over the top, ROTFLMAO! And all those other Indians, who looked like truck drivers, longshoremen and studio laborers from Ventura or Downey--just TOO much! Hahahahaha!

I don't know how the guys made it through those scenes at the mountaintop--the outtakes and lost film must have been tremendous. Between the campy natives and Sammy's mugging, it was just SO funny. It made my day, as awful as it was. If you're ever in the dumps, watch this film--it will brighten you up.

Main deferences will be, that they will be playing Buffalo Soldiers in the 2012 remake vs Cavalry Soldiers in the 1962 version.
