It is my understanding that THE SCARFACE MOB is actually the very first made for TV movie, and not FAME IS THE NAME OF THE GAME from 1966 as seems to be widely believed.

FAME IS THE NAME OF THE GAME was promoted by NBC at the time of its 1966 release as the first made for TV movie...but...alas...Desilu Studios beat them to the punch by roughly seven years, another first by Desilu!

Nope. THE SCARFACE MOB is an edited version of the two part episode of the Desilu Playhouse called THE UNTOUCHABLES which became the hit TV series. So it was not originally a TV movie. It was pretty common to have two part anthology episodes.
