Dispite not being scarey.

Dispite lacking suspence, this is my second favorite of the ones I've seen. which were, Claude Rains, Herbert Lom, Lon Chaney, Charles Dance's, the cartoon, and the Phantom of the Paradise.

I agree with you about the Claude Rains', Lon Chaney and Charles Dance versions but this one with Herbert Lom was the worst one I have seen, not suspenseful, not romantic, it lacked for some reason..

While it wasn't very scary, I liked the fact that he didn't lie about who he was to her, not saying that he was an angel/spirit or anything, he just came right to the point.

Probably after she got to know him better, hearing about how he became disfigured, he was rather sweet to her. She forgot all about the slapping.
