The last hit


The hit in the club at the end of the film is one of cinema's most beautiful and emotionally powerful scenes. The music (not from the original film score) fits the visuals perfectly.

That movie's tone is haunting, dark, nihlistic...I think the score has a lot to do with it. I watched it twice on Hulu and I've got to see it again.

Yeah, that kind of cinematic violence reminded me of the kind of violence we see in The Godfather movies. And also there's that baptism church scene in the first Godfather. It got me wondering if Pale Flower was an influence for Francis Ford Coppola in making The Godfather movies. Both use film noir-like shadows heavily while remaining 'gangster movies'.
