Good film

Such a fun film with a great cast! One of my favourite films. I really wish they would make it available on video/DVD. Any other fans of the film here?

THIS IS MY FAVOURITE FILM EVER !!!!!

I first saw this film on BBC2 in 1988 when I was 18. I just noticed that there was a film with Sid James in whilst looking at the TV listings so I recorded it. I didn't know what to expect as I had never even heard of it before. But being a huge fan of the 'Carry On' films, especially the early ones, I thought I'd risk it. I enjoyed it so much that I watched it every night for months. I wouldn't like to guess how many times I've seen it since, It must be hundreds, maybe thousands?, as I know the entire script from start to end !!!

It amuses me when people ask me what my favourite film is and then give me a blank look when I say 'What A Carve Up"

I have even gone as far as recording the soundtrack on to a cd so I can listen to it in my car !! Does this mean I'm Sad??.....Maybe, or to quote Malcolm Broughton "Quite Mad !!!"

Hello everyone! I posted the first message of this thread under the name "whatdifferencedoesitmake" since then I've changed my ID, anyway just visiting back. Well "What a Carve Up" is still great in my book! Nice to see some fans here. Wow "sihenley" you really do appreciate it! haha I love the opening music so I don't blame you for recording it ;) I often end up finishing the lines of the characters when watching it. I used to get confused thinking the Porter was Uncle Gabriel in disguise and I'd keep on about it and nit pick to my brother and, he would say "I don't think they ever expected someone like you to keep on watching and watching it" hehe. Anyway later on after I wore my taped off the tv copy out I wanted to buy a copy but the only place I could find one was second hand on ebay :( It would be great if it got a DVD release. I think it's very under rated. Hardly ever shown on tv either. What a shame.

Hi folks ! I have previously posted as sihenley but am now misterfarkyharse. Anyone who has seen 'Carry On Abroad' will understand this. I know what you mean munki82, a DVD release would be awesome. Even better if there was some extra features or a commentry . I too have bought a couple of copies from ebay and I have got a copy on DVD which I recorded myself from the video. Fingers crossed for a DVD release soon !!

I have had this on VHS for years now, while I have noticed quite a lot Region 1 retailers do stock it I think I will wait and see if it comes out on Region 2, after all it is a British film.

A great film.
