Is this the right movie?

I saw the ending of a movie a long, long time ago and I think this is the one. There`s a witch woman in a mansion and she`s casting spells at a young blonde woman sleeping in a room in the mansion. A man, apparently the witch`s husband tries to stop her. There are some huge raven statues which come to life and at the very end the witch dies and the man and the blonde girl are able to flee the house, does anyone know if this is the right movie?

Sounds like you're thinking of this film, yes. But it's set at a private medical college in England and, during the final sequence you are recalling, the witch (a college administrator) is in her office casting spells to harm the wife of one of the professors, who is at home in bed at some distance. And the statues are not ravens, but eagles, adorning the college building.

[SPOILERS] And in addition to cmgeyer's comments, the blonde is actually a witch also - it's a good witch/bad witch thing. And it's the good witch/blonde's husband who confronts the bad witch at the college. The bad witch's husband doesn't come into the scene until later, in time to witness the bad witch's death as the eagle, having turned back into stone, falls on her.

Well, the eagle didn't actually turn back into stone. The whole sequence was in Norman's mind. Flora's husband didn't see a giant bird flying around. When the enchanted tape was turned off, there was no damage to the door, no damage to his clothes, or to the statue. It was a spell working on Norman alone, intended to kill him but it got interrupted. Had it succeeded, he would have been found dead, probably of a heart attack. Thus is the nature of such spells.

I am not a fan. I just happen to enjoy movies. Fans are embarrassing.

Yes, you have the right film.

Interesting that in a film about witches and spell-casting, there is so little in the way of SFX. It is unlikely to occur these days.🐭
