ARE THERE TWO DIFFERENT ENDINGS TO THIS FILM ...

I'm not aware of an alternate ending, offhand. Have you seen a different ending?

Im sure iv seen an ending in which clegg does not die. Although i was very young when i saw it.I just wondered if night creatures had a different ending from captain clegg.

I've only seen the one in which he dies. Curiously, in the very first Captain Clegg/Dr. Syn novel, Syn dies in there, yet a whole series of books appeared after that. (You just can't keep a good man down.) I know the George Arliss DR. SYN movie of the 1930s allows Syn to escape unscathed.

Disney made a version the same year as this, Dr, Syn, Alias the Scarecrow, starring Patrick McGoohan. He lives in that version. It's been on video since the 80's, you may have seen that as well.
