Ive ordered this on Amazon + cant wait!!!

I recently ordered this from Amazon & am awaiting its delivery. I know its region 1 but hopefully it will play on my laptop. I heard about this film through a song called "Captain Clegg" by British doom metal band Cathedral. I searched info on the film & I love Peter Cushing so cant wait to see it. Has anyone here got the 8 film collection from Hammer & was it any good in total & of course did Captain Clegg work on your DVD players or laptops etc???

i do own the 2 disc hammer set. and Nightmare Creatures (Captain Clegg)
does work and is one of my favourite films. i bought from a shop in kings heath
in 2006/2007 for a fiver the man who worked there knew that i liked horror films and offered it to me and it was a good purchase on region 1. (not on region 2) This brilliant boxset. i do own a multiregional player so i can play anything.

I got the delivery last night!!!! Im heading home now from work , have a feed & a wash. Then some beers watching Captain Clegg!! Wahooooooo!!!! Cant wait.

captain clegg is under the american name (nightmare creatures.) just so you know.

Really enjoyed this film. Quality classic stuff. Would love to see some sort of remake.

Nightmare Creatures is not the US title. It's Night Creatures. No big deal. Captain Clegg was always the better title. The film was first released (in the UK) as the bottom-half of a double bill with Phantom of the Opera (the Hammer/Herbert Lom version, so badly scuppered by the usually-reliable Heather Sears's oddly lacklustre performance). Hope Kerbdog is enjoying his/her DVD, but a caveat - in the US, Universal's Region 1 pressing was the subject of howls of disamy by many (including me) when we found that freezes and glitches were apparent on many discs.

Very good film! Peter Cushing was fantastic as he always was,Oliver Reed also very good and Yvonne Romain too.The story and scenery was very good too and quite exciting! Also a quick view of the youthful Kate O'Mara(Horror of Frankinstein& Vampire Lovers)in the bar scenes.
Good acting and also if you have Hammer set watch "Psycotic" (spelt wrongly!)with Oliver Reed,"Nightmare" also is good too and so are the others.

I enjoy all eight movies on this DVD set. I had never seen "Captain Clegg"/"Night Creatures" until it was released on this set, and I've grown fond of it.

The film was always billed in the U.S. as a horror movie, which it really isn't. It might not offer real horror, but it does have a lot of the charm, atmosphere, and elements which were typical of Hammer's costume period pieces.

"Die Bande des Captain Clegg" just released in Germany (Region 2).

I own the region-1 eight movie set, and have never seen a glitch. And I've played all movies on two different players.
