Just noticed a goof

I don't know how many times I've watched this movie, but I just noticed this and submitted it to the goof page:

"Right before Shipoopi, Mrs. Shinn says her girls are ready to perform, but Ethel dances with Marcellus in the number and is dressed in a flowered dress. Immediately after the number, she is dressed in her Grecian urn outfit, ready to perform."

Either Ethel is a quick-change artist, or someone didn't think this one through. lol

I kind of thought of that scene as a fantasy sequence. The. it goes back to the real world hence the costume change.

It was a quick change.

A few other goofs:

When Marcellus finds Harold Hill on the footbridge w/Marian, he says that the kids were all in their band uniforms while Tommy was pretending to hold "band practice." Why wasn't Winthrop with them in uniform? He was still in regular clothes with his mother.

When Mayor Shinn invited the townspeople to stand up if they didn't want to see Professor Hill tar and feathered, Zaneeta was the second one to stand up, after Mrs. Paroo. I'm surprised that he didn't yell at her to sit down again, like he did when his wife stood up.

A year-and-a-half later: It seems to me that Mayor Shinn's heart really isn't in punishing Harold. His reading of the dialogue becomes more resigned and his body seems to slump.

May I bone your kipper, Mademoiselle?
