Some Vintage Dialogue May Need Definitions Such as Sanitary Package.

Sanitary package: First used to describe packaging to keep items like crackers from spoiling.

Tank town: A small town. So called because trains would stop there only to replenish water.

Sen-Sen A breath mint from the 1800's.

Here is a great site for many of the vintage terms used in the play and the 1962 movie. The goal of both play and film was to achieve the speech of the 1912 time period.

Unfortuntaely, that page no longer exists. I do remember a TMM glossary about 9-10 years ago. It had terms like "tierce," "milk pan" and "hogshead."
