Merrill's appears on R1 DVD!

According to advance notice from Critic's Choice Video, they have an exclusive release of a Region 1 (U.S./Canada) Merrill's Marauders that will hit the streets on 6 November (price $16.96 for the preorder + shipping). There was no specifics given as to whether it would be anamorphic or any "extras". I checked several other sites--Amazon doesn't list it in their inventory but there were a couple of sellers on eBay with a pre-order listing of $13.95. Good luck!

The Critics' Choice November catalogue lists MERRILL'S MARAUDERS at $15.96 (not $16.96), plus shipping. At this point it does appear to be a CCV exclusive, which means it'll probably show up at other sites in a few months' time; but why wait? And it is indeed widescreen (2.35:1), as you'd expect. No info on extras, but shipping this month is $1.99 only, vs. their usual $6.50 per order.

(Note: These are catalogue prices; the website lists MM at a dollar higher -- $16.96 -- and s&h may be different as well. Catalogue price is good till 4/30/08 but you need the code number.)

Warner Bros. has just announced today that a mainstream DVD release for Merrill's Marauders has been set for April 22nd, if anyone's interesred.

I'll have to pick this one up.

Does anyone know if the DVD will be widescreen or fullscreen? The listing at Amazon says it's fullscreen, but they've been wrong before. If the DVD is fullscreen, I'll probably just stick with my VHS tape.

It's Widescreen 2.35:1 Color (Anamorphic), English Mono & Video is very clear on Samsung HL-S6187W High Def , played on a regular DVD player (no high def). It was a joy to watch!!!!!!!

Gordon-Hartman,

The listing on Amazon.com lists this DVD as 1:33 format, but are you saying they are wrong? I love the movie as it was one of my favorites as a kid, but I would not like it on full screen. If you can respond to this, or to my regular email of [email protected], I would appreciate it.

Thank you,

Michael

Just watched the DVD, and it's in widescreen. Don't worry gil, I had the same fear, but Amazon must have listed it wrong.
