Thanks a LOT, Xfinity/Comcast....

Starting watching this ("Maniac") on On Demand's Fearnet a couple Saturday mornings ago....I was intrigued by the William Castle-esq title, and, being a sucker for those kinds of low-budget black and white early 60's horror films (like "Homicidal", "Mr. Sardonicus", "Terrified",) as well as the higher-budget black and white early 60's Hitchcock films, I had some time to kill before my small kids woke up. I got maybe 1/3 to 1/2 into it, and they came downstairs and I switched it off.....this morning I remembered I had never finished watching it, so I went to put it on, and.....it was gone. I'd ALSO forgotten how quickly Xfinity/Comcast pulls movies from their "free" section (you're already paying a monthly fee for their service, but to watch some films On Demand, you have to pay a further fee -- sort of like pay-per-view. But this film was free. Now it's gone with no trace of it. And, being the obscure, low-budget early 60s film it is, I wonder if I'll EVER see the rest of it. When I saw it before, there was no "ending soon on...." verbiage, so I had no reason to think it was going to DISAPPEA TOTALLY anytime soon. THANKS, XFINITY, for NOTHING!!

I'll admit that what I did see wasn't incredibly violent or maniacal or fast-paced, but that is actually why I like movies from this era, and this genre at that time...a lot of them are more psychological, and a slower paced, and have a kind of eeriness to them that you don't see in more modern horror films. MANIACS was no exception to this....I disagree with some of the other posters on here, and felt it was worth the time...you just have to know what you're in for...it's not "Saw XVI", or "Turistas"...it's more along the lines of those old William Castle films, as I said before.
