Billing and Pay: Stewart, Wayne, Ford

From the John Wayne biography by Scott Eyeman:

Though James Stewart got top(alphabetical) billing in the movie poster,

Wayne got paid $750,000.

Stewart got paid $300,000.

Shows you how much bigger a commercial star Wayne was at the time.

However, both men got 7.5% of the gross.

And I think John Wayne's name goes first in the movie credits.

PS. John Ford got $150,000 and 25% of "the profit." (Gross or net?)
