CHICK WITH A MUSTACHE!!!!1

Help! No one warned me before watching that this movie features a chick with a very prominent mustache!!! NOT KIDDING. A CHICK with a MUSTACHE!!! And that's not the most disturbing thing; it was just played off like this was nothing! Are we to assume that this is common in Sicily? Chicks having mustaches? I've seen "The Godfather" and during the entire "Sicily" segment, there were NO chicks with mustaches! Were they hiding something from us? Are there really hordes of mustachioed females lurking in the hills of Sicily???? PLEASE HELP!!!!!!1 I cannot sleep for days, now!!!!!!!!!1!!1!21!!!2!

But the payoff! "Do me a favor and take my advice - get married before your moustache gorws back."

If mustachioed women bring on THAT reaction, I must warn ya: don't EVER do a Google picture search for "Alice B. Toklas", Gertrude Stein's hashish-brownie-baking, painfully homely, lesbian squeeze.

Actually, even if you DO like women with facial hair, don't do it...it could lead to getting permanently stoned (in the non-recreational, Medusa-related sense of the word).

You read it here. Now go forth and preach it!

reply

Yikes. I've just blocked "Google.com" in my firewall so I don't accidentally do it.

reply

Smart move. Seeing a photo of Alice ruined all my fantasies about lesbians.

You read it here. Now go forth and preach it!

This stood out to me immediately as well, she also had very hairy eyebrows and grizzly sideburns. I was relieved when later in the film it was used as part of the plot and she had her hairs waxed. Thank god the hair was fake and for a film and she didn't normally look like that!

reply

Oh, I didn't realise that. I stopped watching shortly after. I just assumed that it was the real thing. I had no idea it was used as a joke. Thank GOD.

reply

For italians being so voluble, it was pretty funny that no one said anything about it to her until after the fact. And did anyone notice the hair on her arms too? Like a gorilla.

Oh lord, get a grip. It's the worlds job to inform you of anything you might find troubling? Please throw out your DVD player.

I'm assuming you're very young and don't know much about worldly things. Mediterranean women (Greek, Italian) are legendary for being hairier than their fair-haired counterparts.

Too bad you didn't get the joke.

reply

The reason dark women appear hairier than fair women is mainly because brown and black hair are more visible on light skin than blond hair is. In fact, bleaching is a common method women use to hide unwanted hair, and natural blondes have "built-in bleach".

When there's no more room in hell, The dead will walk the earth...

The hairiness of that woman was obviously fake and exaggerated for comedic effect -- meant mostly to show the lack of hygiene/grooming among peasants (bad teeth were also featured prominently in the film this way).

Actually, in Pietro Germi's Divorzio all'italiana, Daniela Rocca plays the grotesquely-mustachioed wife of Marcello Mastroianni to great effect. I read in the imdb thumbnail bio that she had been committed to an asylum for a while and also was a writer. Sadly, early-on she passed...

Just what do you think the Kardashian's would look like without laser hair removal?
Even light haired females can have inappropriate facial hair. It's sometimes hormonal.
