I had no idea what her problem was... (possible spoiler)

...until I googled morphine addiction in the early 1900s. How in the heck would anyone know what was going on? I only googled morphine because the synopsis said something about it, otherwise I would have kept wondering what in the world was her problem they kept NOT talking about...lol. Maybe a good play, if you know what it's about, but otherwise a person can lose interest pretty quickly. Btw, it's still on TCM as I am typing this, so I don't know if they ever say exactly what her problem is. I missed the first few minutes, so unless they revealed it then, viewers are pretty much clueless as to why everyone is so "concerned" about her.
Edit: Ok, if you keep with it, definitely one of Katherine Hepburn's best performances, and a tough look at what the term dysfunction is all about. Worth the watch, even though hard to watch.

Well, bad experiences with child birth and having Rxs filled that the druggist was suspicious of ... yeah there's enough there.
The dialogue is a little stagey tough.

"It's the system, Lara. People will be different after the Revolution."
