Superb film that must have inspired Kubrick

I finally watched this film today and was extremely impressed. The scenes at the reform school immediately reminded me of Alex DeLarge's time in prison in A Clockwork Orange. It's hard to imagine that both Kubrick and MacDowell weren't heavily influenced by Tony Richardson and Tom Courtenay, respectively. Colin Smith and Alex DeLarge are almost interchangeable, aside from a Alex's penchant for ultraviolence. They were carbon copies so far as their smirking rejection of authority is concerned.
