Does anyone know if this is coming out on DVD in the US? I really want this is widescreen.

Not sure if its widescreen though. The release looks real limited.

Just announced for February 13, 2007 by Warner Home video. Their track record would indicate a first-rate wide-screen release.

The DVD is out, I got it from Netflix. The video is quite good, but the audio is scratchy, as if this were made from an old print. It sounds like an old print, but does nopt look like that. Perhaps my experience/ copy is odd or damaged.

Its not just your copy - the audio track is TERRIBLE. It looks OK and as this is the only option right now its still a must-have - but let the buyer beware.

Glad to know others experienced problems with the sound on the Region 1 DVD and that it isn't my player or - worse - my hearing! I'm actually having to watch it with the English subtitles.

It's interesting. Amazon says it's in 'widescreen;' but both they and IMDb list the original aspect ratio of the film as 1.66:1, which is anything but widescreen, so I'm not sure what the point of 'widescreen' would be.
