I saw this movie in 1962 and thought it was good enough then that I still remember it. I'd give it an "average" rating. But that's not what I'm writing this for. I still remember that I very much liked the soundtrack. Does anyone have any information on the soundtrack other than the composer's name (Malcolm Arnold)?

The Ferrante & Teicher single, with orchestra conducted by Nick Perito, was also released in Japan as "Lisa" on the United Artists label number UA-12.

No actual soundtrack score was issued at the time, but Malcolm Arnold's main theme was released in the UK in June, 1962 on two 45 rpm singles, by Ferrante and Teicher as "Theme From The Inspector" on His Master's Voice (United Artists series) 45-POP 1028 and by The Wayfarers as "Lisa's Theme From The Inspector" on Decca 45-F.11473. Neither single charted and they must be pretty rare by now. Luckily, I have both of them in my record collection.

That news will be welcomed by those members who don't have it, tallgiraffe876. Luckily, I still have the original vinyl release from 51 years ago.
