Looking for this movie

I am desperately trying to locate this movie for my grandmother but cannot find it ANYWHERE -- does anyone have any suggestions??

This would be the PERFECT Christmas present for her!

I have been looking for this movie too. I just recorded it on my DVR yesterday (01/03/06).

I am looking around to see how I can transfer the movie to either tape or disc. Contact me and I will keep you posted on my progress. I will get this done, so help me! It's a shame that this cannot be purchased.

Regards,
Calvin Dunn

Did you have any luck? I am extremely interested in this movie, although I've never seen it. I've heard great things and can't find anyone who has it. Please let me know how the progress is going (even though it's been over a year). Thanks- Jillian [email protected]

What great info, but what terrible timing I have. I didn't see this until about 13 hours too late. Any possibility of it re-airing soon?

reply

It's possible. I'll keep a look out for it and post a message next time I see it's going to be on televison. Hopefully I'll know a little more ahead a time!

It's on now on AMC. They show it from time to time but AMC pretty much sucks. Riddled with commercials, lousy prints and crappy aspect ratio. Almost not worth watching. Good luck.

It is coming on AMC at 7:45am EST tomorrow, Tuesday June 27! Scheduled to air again on July 21, 2006 at 6:00am EST.

I have finish watching it in Cinecanal Classics, I think it we be replayed a few times so, if you can't find the DVD, you will be able to watch it again on TV.Great movie, great actors, beautifull places, hardly perfect.

Check http://www.tv-now.com and type in William Holden in the search box -

It will give you the listings of all of his movies shown during the month. "The Lion" was on this morning on the Fox Movie Channel. I don't think it is going to be repeated this month, but check later in the month for the November listings, etc.

Have you found out where this can be bought? I am looking for a copy for my brother. His late wife was a stand in for the young girl in the movie and he would love to have a copy.

The film has so far only been released by 20th Century-Fox on Region 2 DVD in Spain and you can buy the import of it from amazon.co.uk at the link below (also on eBay from a seller in Spain). The dialogue tracks are in English and Spanish and the 2.35:1 transfer, although 4 x 3 letterbox, is beautifully clear on picture and sound and the colours are rich and beautiful. The menu is in Spanish, but easy to navigate yourself through once you've tried it a few times. Your late sister-in-law must have been good looking if she was Pamela Franklin's stand-in.
