The photo on IMDB

Here I am, "nitpicking" again, but I just find it so irritating when people submit/edit information without giving it as much as half a thought...

The caption under the photo - which is lovely, but I wish there were many more (anyone?) - notes the date as "1962".

Clearly, if the premiere was in early February of 1962, this photo couldn't have been taken in 1962 - not even if it were taken on the very day of the premiere, which is theoretically possible.
(I know how Florence looks in February - and this isn't it. ;)

Furthermore, the filming dates are listed on IMDB as May - July 1961.

So, I dutifully reported the mistake to the IMDB editors and offered the appropriate correction.

It doesn't seems to have worked...
Which is why I am venting here.

And I am done. :)

I take it to mean that IMDB is only concerned with giving you the release date of the movie ('62), not the date the photograph was taken.

Yeah... so much for accuracy.
Or for customer-service, while we're at it.
I am increasingly unhappy about their flippant attitude. WE are the ones who provide most of the content AND the traffic that has made them rich.
In return, we get our threads (perfectly inoffensive and even interesting threads) deleted without notice.
