Mostly B.S.? (Spoilers)

From what I've read, the story in the film about the taking of Aqqabba (and likely the crossing to Cairo) just isn't true.

British ships had been bombarding the town for days before Lawrence entered.

I don’t understand your point? It’s a movie not a documentary…

I've read a couple of books about Lawrence, and this movie is very historically accurate for a Hollywood movie.

That isn't to say 100% accurate or anything, but then Lawrence's memoirs are reportedly less than 100% accurate. So I suppose movie inaccuracies are true to his spirit, in a way.

It was a big effin deal to take Aqaba "because they had the big guns and the Royal Navy couldn't take them out."

And it was a big effin deal to cross the Sinai to tell the generals in Cairo that Aqaba had fallen, because they would only believe it if Lawrence said it.

And it was a big effin deal when he showed up and gave them the news.

That's at least half the friggin movie. And it's B.S.
