How did you first discover this film?

I was a King Kong fan in the late 80's. Shortly thereafter I became a Godzilla fan after watching Godzilla 1985. When I was around 7 years old I thought, "it would be cool if King Kong met Godzilla." Not long after I was walking around the local Kmart and saw something I couldn't believe. A VHS copy of "King Kong vs. Godzilla". I was thinking, "Oh my God, I have to see this now!" I begged my mom to buy it for me. I remember being disappointed about the King Kong design, but I otherwise enjoyed the film.

I think when I was really young. Visiting my grandparents, my mom rented me the KING KONG 1976 remake. And that's how I came familiar with Kong. And I loved it. Maybe the next time I visited, I wanted to see KING KONG VS GODZILLA, pretty much because it had Kong in it.

Summer '88, it was on TBS one afternoon. I was 7, a huge King Kong fan (I have King Kong Lives to thank for that. . . which is ironic, because that's such a terrible movie), and this movie got me hooked on Godzilla. I ended up getting every Godzilla movie available within the next two years.

When I was four, I saw a commercial for Godzilla action figures. I had no idea who Godzilla was, just that he was cool. My father(a lifelong fan) noticed my enthusiasm with Godzilla, and when I was seven, we had friends over, and while our friends were visiting with my mom and my sister, my dad took me into the den to show me a Godzilla movie. That movie was KING KONG VS. GODZILLA(which was his first one as well). The film had me instantly hooked on both monsters, and it's the film I'm gonna start my kids on.

Gosh, you folks make me feel old:

I first became aware of Kong Vs. Big G WHEN I SAW A CLIP FROM IT ON THE ART LINKLETTER DAYTIME TV SHOW DURING ITS INITIAL APPEARANCE IN THE STATES. Art questioned a child from the audience about why kids found such material so irresistable.

Then I bugged my parents incessantly until they allowed me to watch this meeting of Titans at The Wink Theater in downtown Dalton, Georgia. Ah the memories. Steve V.

I think I was 2 or 3 when my Dad (a huge Godzilla fan who happens to have been born the same year Gojira came out) showed it to me and my brother. Thanks to him I am also a huge Godzilla fan.
