With Peter Jackson's amazing King Kong remake and the upcoming 2014 Godzilla remake, along with the amazing things that can be done with visual effects these days, I think a new King Kong Vs. Godzilla movie would be awesome! Does anyone agree?

shareI feel like a remake of this wouldn't have nearly the marketability as a regular king kong or regular godzilla film, so the budget wouldn't be as high as either the 2005 kong or 2014 godzilla.

They've remade several of the Godzilla and Mothra movies, so it would be logical to remake this film.
Personally, I'm not keen on remakes. The ones done so far aren't as good or as much fun as the originals. The fact that special effects have advanced technologically doesn't necessarily mean they're "better", and besides you need more than just computerized effects to make a movie good.
If KKVG is remade, however, I hope it's Toho that does it. The American redo of Godzilla in 1998 was one of the worst films ever made, and from what I hear I'm dubious about the new version coming this year. Let the Japanese do what they do best.
I would love to see another King Kong vs. Godzilla movie. I'm actually hoping the new movie does so well in the box office that it could possibly lead to a King Kong vs. Godzilla film in the future. I have a feeling that's not likely, but I can still dream, right?

In order for that to work, they'd have to ignore the 2005 movie, which ends with his death.
shareThe only problem is who wins in the end? King Kong won in the original movie. But now that Godzilla is the hero today, how can we have him lose? At the end of the new Godzilla, he was called "King of the Monsters" and Savior of the City." Maybe it can end in a draw. Or maybe they can add a third monster that King Kong and Godzilla can join forces to defeat after fighting with each other.
