Japanese DVD question...

I'm wanting the Japanese version, but the ones on eBay seem like they're sold exclusively in Japan. Do these DVDs come with English subtitles.?

The official Japanese DVDs don't include English subtitles. If you want the Japanese version with English subs, you'll probably have to settle for a bootleg. That's what I did.

Your best chance for a version with the 'real' Japanese lines and English subtitles - unless and until we get a re-release - is to seek out a grey-market 'international' version. I found the VHS that way, about 20 years ago, but I'm waiting for a true Criterion re-release, before I buy a disc.
