Is the sea monster supposed to be the Kraken?

I read somewhere that the sea monster is the legendary Kraken but I have a hard time believing it. The sea monster is good in this film whereas the Kraken is not (see Clash of the Titans). Anyone know?

It didn't remind me of the kraken. This one looked like a little nephew of Ray Harryhausen's five-tentacled 'It Came From Beneath the Sea', with the difference that this smaller one walked on land and slapped the two-headed monster.
