Torin Thatcher

This wonderful character actor who was born in India is the main cog in the tale we admire;

of course,Kerwin & others add to the mix(Don Beddoe)but Torin is as nasty as they come !

In 7th Voyage of Sinbad,Thatcher first encounters Kerwin and they have a combo chemistry which translates 4 yrs later in "Jack"

Perhaps the contrast between the 2 is so polars apart as Kerwin is particularly wholesome and Torin is quite sinister in appearance & action !

This is some of Mr.Thatcher's finest work out of his many roles.

I must agree. He is one of those actors that instantly adds a little something to his roles. Even in smaller things like his parts on Lost in Space and Time Tunnel. I could compare him to Malachi Throne in the way that he adds flare and menace to his parts.

He had a great role in The Crimson Pirate with Burt Lancaster. He played Humble Bellows, the treacherous first mate. Also good in The Black Shield of Falworth as Sir James and Blackbeard the Pirate as Sir Henry Morgan.

And of course, Star Trek TOS - Return of the Archons....one of my favorites!

He was also the prosecutor in Witness For the Prosecution , where he displayed toothy menace, even though he was technically a good guy.

Catch him in his Wagon Train episode, The Steve Campden Story. A bit of Conan Doyle, Rice Burroughs, or Lovecraft in this one. Thatcher plays Steve Campden, and he's bombastic, boisterous, adventurous, but flawed....an absolute perfect piece of casting.
