As a New Zealander, I am interested if anyone has background information on the Maori's that worked on the film? Any informations out of curiosity at all?

The Maori chief was played by Tanu Umaga Sr, his grandson was responsible for a vicious spear tackle on Brian O Driscoll decades later

Actually, the Maori chief was played by Inia Te Wiata.
