John was good looking

Did anyone else think the guy who played John was really good looking? Boy, I sure did.

Michael Anderson Jr. at that age was a total dreamboat. I don't think his looks held up that well, but his father was extremely handsome, and his did. As Hayley got a little older, they tried to find boys for her that the girl fans would want to date. James Stacy was a red herring in "Summer Magic," but she ends up with Peter Brown" -- both of them were scrumptious looking. In "The Moonspinners," they team her up with Peter McEnery, who was considered a very hot ticket. Of course, the most attractive male lead she ever had was probably Horst Bucholz in "Tiger Bay" -- the movie that made her a star when she was just a little girl.

um yeah he was! pretty darn gorgous. I'm watching the movie now and I'm like wow. He's not like guys today who are hot, but they're always rough looking you know what I mean, but this guy is more idk feminine looking than rough. Do you know what I mean?? He's reaaly purdy

Absolutely. I'm watching "In Search of the Castaways" right now and can't help thinking he had a young Paul Rudd thing going on. Especially when he smirks.

He was handsome
not "hot" or "cute", but handsome in a refined way. You could tell by looking at him that he was refined, brought up to be a gentleman.
*sighs dreamily* he was awesome...
His smirk was awesome. I'm gonna have to go get me some image caps from this movie :)

Too funny! Even when I was a kid, I thought, "Damn, this guy is foxy." And as a 35-year-old, I still think he's hot!

Just had a nostalgic re-watch of In Search of the Castaways and I was struck by the similarity between Michael Anderson Jr and Benedict Cumberbatch!
