A question about Maurice Chevalier's character

I was watching the movie with my children. My 12 year old asked a question that I did not know the answer to. Is Maurice Chevalier's character the most annoying character in any Disney movie? He is certainly a strong candidate for most insufferable Disney character. He habitually lies to get people to do what he wants. He pretends every new disaster is exactly what he wanted. He is always so cheerful that the others are facing likely death because they listened to him. And that constant singing! I can not think of a more annoying Disney character.

reply

Thought he was great, him and Wilfred Hyde White, best characters in the movie.

reply

Oh well, maybe it's just me. I love this movie, and think the kids are great in it. However, Chevalier annoys me intensely.

reply

We are all different, each to his / hers own of course. It's a great movie all round but just found Chevalier and Wilfred Hyde White so very funny.

reply

Yeah I couldn't stand the guy. I vaguely remember seeing this as a kid and just saw it again with my kid and I can tell you I would have killed him. Dude is always singing and happy about everything. Definitely one of the most annoying Disney characters if not the MOST annoying.

It is not a person's fault because they succeeded. It is a person's fault if they failed.

reply

I loved him when I was a child. Now that I'm grown, I find him extremely annoying and I would have thrown him to the tiger or something.

I'm cool, you're cool, we're cool, thank you, good night!-My Science Project

reply

Possibly. But I already disliked him. My family calls him "that pedophile" because of his creepy Thank Heavens for Little Girls singing. My Mom said he made her flesh crawl when she was little.
