Apparently, Wallach's performance in How the West Was Won, specifically the memorable moment when he turns his fingers into mock guns and pretends to shoot the two small boys before cackling, is what caused director Sergio Leone to cast him as Tuco in The Good, the Bad and the Ugly a few years later. That role, of course, would become Wallach's most iconic.
