7.0?

IMDB's ratings are pretty misleading. I watched this movie on a whim and it ended up being one the best war movies I've ever seen. Great character development, strong plot (compared to other war films), and vivid battle scenes. There really isn't much to not like about it.

Hey Christopher,

I have always liked this film, and I liked Bob Newhart before this film. Having said that, however, I thought having Newhart do his telephone bit was the one thing that detracted from the story. Again, I liked Newhart doing his telephone monologues on stage, but doing it in the film was just out of place in my opinion. Even so, it is one of my favorite war films also.

Best wishes,
Dave Wile

Great Character development? At what point do we even begin to see why Reese is so screwed up. His character was not explained one bit.
