Michele Girardon

What, does nobody think she was great in this film, and a babeosceros to boot?

She deserves WAY more credit than she ever got. And I'm certainly no francophile....

reply

I agree. She was very attractive and her performance was solid. Unfortunately, deeply depressed after a failed relationship, she died of a sleeping pill overdose in 1975, which may be why she remains largely forgotten and underappreciated tody.

I am wondering if you know the rest of the "sleeping pill overdose" story. Her husband divorced her to marry another woman. THAT made her so despondent, that she saw no other way.

Eight divided by one-half equals four squared!

reply

Actually not quite the case stevenscottoddballz. Her lover divorced his wife to go and marry yet another woman. Girardon herself never married. This, combined with her lack of career prospects is what allegedly led to her depression and eventual suicide.

Drop it like it's legal precedent!

reply

And her film career was almost over at a young age.

reply

She was beautiful, and it was a wise choice to include two gorgeous young women in the film to play off against the roughneck male characters.

According to some Internet sources she learned English on the fly during filming.
