Nice shots Brand-New Candlestick Park

The "stick" was in it's second season in 1961 , way before it was closed in to add more seats and cut down on the wind off the bay. I remember the Tarryton Cig ad on the scoreboard and the chain link fence in the outfield.

I only went to the Stick once, when it was enclosed, what a HORRIBLE place to see a baseball game. I was in the upper deck, I might as well have been in San Jose I was so far away. Plus, I almost got blown off the upper deck by a big gust of wind when I was walking down the stairs. Good riddance! 

Not only that, but we get to hear Vin Scully at his finest. Now, if only it ended with a Dodger win.... 😉
