Fun to Watch

I may be one of the few people on this planet to have a copy of this movie. I recorded it when, years ago, it was broadcast on a local television station. I'm glad to have it. I love this movie. Why? Jack Warden. He steals every scene he's in and stealing scenes from Yul Brynner is not an easy thing to do. His continual wisecracking and sarcastic remarks make this thinly plotted film great fun.

I'm really surprised this film never became popular. When I talk about it with other people, I have yet to find anyone who ever heard of it.

If you can find this movie, get it. It's worth watching just for Jack Warden's performance. As I said, this movie is just fun to watch.

I remember watching Escape From Zahrain in the movie theater in Belgium at the time it was released. Great performance of Jack Warden, Yul Brynner. It would be great to see it released on DVD soon.

Escape From Zahrain is scheduled to come out on DVD later this year. See the thread I posted with the information known so far.

Saw it (1 time) and have never heard anything about it before or since. Jack Warden was great. Love to see it again.

Hi thbryn -- I posted some info on the DVD on the thread "First topic on EFZ", as you will have seen. If I understand correctly that you don't yet have the DVD, it is available and looks and sounds great.

I have a taped-VHS copy from TV. I love this film; it's very adventuresome and fun. Sorta like Indiana Jones and Very underrated.

I can see why honestly. It's a tidy little escapist adventure and that's about it. I'm confused why they kept the one prisoner with them the whole time since he proved treacherous and lazy time and again.
