Remake?
Will this movie be remade?
shareI've been to the site in Berlin and the walking tour guide gave a great account of the event. Lots of Cold War stories should be made into movies and this should be remade to fit the actual events.

I can't say this is a remake because I have yet to see this film, although I'm trying to see it. There is a film called Der Tunnel (the Tunnel), and it sounds very much like this film. Also, at one point in the film the characters come across film makers making a movie about escaping from East Berlin. Anyway, do check the film out, and if anyone knows how to see Escape from East Berlin, please reply.

I watched it on TCM 5 or 6 years ago. Checked TCM, but it's not scheduled for the next 3 months.

The film crew thing is true. A group of East Germans got in touch or were contacted by an American network (NBC I think it was) who not only documented them working on the tunnel but helped finance the tunnel. I have seen it but don't recall the name of the documentary.
