What a hilarious delight!

The human condition... does it ever change? Wanting what we can't have? Lacking gratitude for what is right in front of us? The passion ignited by forbidden fruit?

This reminded me of a Blake Edwards comedy, but with much more passion and soul.

Oh that scoundrel Fefe!

I thought it was a pretty funny film too. Not LOL funny, but more of a subtle, clever sort of funny. I thought the scorned wife "avenging her honor" right before the baron was about to was the most hilarious twist.

Owes a lot, I think, to Preston Sturges's Unfaithfully Yours (1948), but the ending is customized for Sicily.

I thought a better ending might have been not that Angela was really a devil and looking around, but that she had the same cloying, overbearing behavior of the wife, which Fefe had failed to realize.

But I guess Fefe is doomed between cloying angels and innocent-looking devils with no one reasonable in between.
