There's a german DVD edition available in Swiss and Germany that features audio and subtitles in english (plus the original french of course).
Check Amazon.de for "Sonntage mit Sybill" (german title).

Yes, but these ebay copies are universally unofficial (read: bootleg) copies that are of VHS quality with the nearly impossible-to-read subtitles.

Keep your fingers crossed that Sony will put out a US / Region 1 copy before too long.

It seems that Sony has officially released this film on region 2 Pal DVD in Italy, Spain, and the UK (the same print is used for all these releases).

The quality of the transfer is pretty good. It doesn't look like it has been remasterd but it is WAY better than the various VHS bootlegs. It is anamorphic, but the aspect ratio seems more like 1:2.2 than the 1:2.35 claimed on the artwork. Audio is mono. Subtitles are bright and clear.

Unfortunately, Sony does not seem to have the rights to this film in the US, so it is unlikely it will be released stateside anytime soon.

There is a Korean released all region copy (NTSC) that is on eBay that is about as good as it gets...
I actually downloaded a Pirate Bay vs. that must be lower quality than this dvd which it was ripped from. However, the video quality is equal to your ave. dvd and the subs are clear and bright. As I said, since my copy was a torrent DL, I can only imagine what the primary dvd would be like...at least 2X as good i would think.
The DL copy I have has no menu but I can select English subs on or off via my remote.
I also DL a torrent rip of the Blu ray RAPTURE which while only 1.2 gigs was outstanding quality. I can't see how the actual video of the BR could be much better...

I saw this movie in 1972 for a film class and thought it was the most beautiful movie ever made. The professor thought I was too gushy in my praise of it, but I was just expressing how I perceived the movie. Got to see it again recently and felt the same way - just wish it was more accessible in the U.S.
