One Of My Favorites


I first discovered this movie on one of those budget multi-film horror dvds at Best Buy a few years ago. I had never heard of it but it quickly became one of my favorite cult horror films of the 50s and 60s. It is creepy and entertaining at the same time. In my opinion, it is better than it's no doubt lower budget should have let it been.

Too bad Robert Alda is such a homely drip.

I agree. There is a bit of an evil feel to this. Believe it is because one of the bulwarks of society, Commissioner Gordon, turns out to be a Satanist.

I always thought that red phone in Commissioner Gordon's office was to someone LOWER that Batman, the phone was a direct line to B.L. Zabub himself...Ol' Nick, Lucifer, Mr. Satan...yep...

I like the film. It's got atmosphere especially that shop full of lookalike dolls. I smiled each time that the cult leader, Neil Hamilton called out "Oh great Gamba." It was hard for me not to get his Commissioner Gordon character from the tv Batman series out of my mind. As you say this film is entertaining,
