interesting that Blake E. did this year after Breakfast at Tiffany's

Compare the two movies... especially the party scene. The attitude to over-indulging in Breakfast was about opposite to the pity expressed in Days of Wine and Roses. I suppose the scene had a couple funny warnings about alcohol, but the overall mood was "These guys know how to have fun." Makes me wonder about Blake Edwards thoughts on drinking. One other thing about the two movies. The songs that Mancini wrote from them are so moving. Peggy Lee's version of "Days and Wine and Roses" almost stops time.
