In many ways '62 was still the 'late 50's'. It was planned and shot much earlier than its '62 release date - if we must get that time-precised.
As I stated on another thread, DOTT should be remade. Considering how uneven and dated this film is, it wouldn't be the old matter of "ruining a classic".
Return to the original source novel, instead of 'remaking the film'.
With the right people involved, it could fly.
