The journey to Spain

just Thinking Bill and Co's Journey down to Spain is quite quick.Especially in those days when cars and trucks did not go very fast Conssidering France is a big country it would take them at least 2 days to reach Spain.

Yes, but there was probably no traffic as well. (Though I've never been to that part of the world, so I wouldn't know how congested those roads get).

Hi it is a bit different now we live in the u.k. and it is quite easy getting to France or Spain especially the French motoway system is good

reply

yes, but dont' forget the film was aimed at the American market, where many people think that the whole of 'Eurup' is about the size of Rhode Island....

How did they cross the English Channel??

reply

Hey Altho
I'm not being smart - but they took a boat. they were hanging out by that
big vessel when that airplane came down and started a big fire , so they hopped
into a little cabin cruiser and went to France .
They went to the docks in the first place cause the guy was in the merchant
marine or navy. I always considered the reason for them traveling was
just a plot device to show how this "horror" had spread - affected everyone ,
no geographic boundries would stop this plague of killer broccoli........

Thanks. It's been around twenty years since I last saw the film, so I've forgotten a lot of it.

"those days when cars did not go fast"? This was the early 1960's, not 1900! They would have driven nearly as fast as would be possible today.
